Bargaining in Probably Stolen unlocks around Day 8. Offer Markup earns reputation; Demand Discount saves money and costs reputation; Blackmail works only on criminals; Threaten only on Augs.

The options

Option	Effect
Offer Markup	+10%, +25%, +50% or +75%: you pay more and earn reputation per item
Demand Discount	-10%, -25%, -50% or -75%: you pay less, and lose reputation if it works
Blackmail (Criminal)	20%; always fails on non-criminals
Threaten (Aug)	20%; first seen on Day 12, always fails on a normal customer

Only one bargain can be active at a time, and it does not work on barter. Success with a discount depends on your standing, and sellers can refuse. GitM's list caps Demand Discount at -50%, against AllThingsHow's -75%, which may be a difference of run or standing.

Examples

AllThingsHow's -10% cut a 169 wholesale to 153, and -25% a 277 wholesale to 208. Buy-side bargains no longer affect sell-side reputation. Two other tools help: catching a fake lowers the price, and taking a seller's whole stock discounts it.

Perks

Diplomatic gives +33% trade reputation, and Awful Negotiator disables bargaining with a permanent 5% penalty.
